Q-Tip’s Shelved Album Set To Hit Shelves

A year after his critically acclaimed album The Renaissance hit shelves, A Tribe Called Quest co-founder Q-Tip is set to release his shelved 2002 set, Kamaal the Abstract.

The genre-hopping disc, which will be released on Battery Records on September 15, was produced entirely by Tip and features members of legendary jazz man Miles Davis’s band.

Q-Tip dropped The Renaissance on November 4, 2008. Since its release it has sold 131,200 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. His 1999 solo debut Amplified has been certified gold with 676,300 units moved. –Elan Mancini
