Revered female rapper Jean Grae will take time out tonight (March 25) to motivate and inspire young women towards finding professional success at this year’s Women on the Move school tour.
The third annual event, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, at the New York University Kimmel Center in New York, is geared towards providing awareness to high school and college students regarding available career opportunities.
Influential female leaders representing business, fashion, entertainment and politics will share their first hand experiences as well as offer professional advice.
Moderated by Hot 97 radio host Dee Vasquez, the Women on the Move seminar will feature Grae as well as appearances from renowned DJ Jazzy Joyce, Vibe Magazine editor-in-chief Danyel Smith, model Christina Mendez, G-Unit director of finance Sharon Salamone and Miatta David of the MVD PR firm.
With this year’s line up of seminar guest speakers, Ravenel Records recording artist Nina B could not help but envy those who plan to take advantage of everything offered by the event.
"Women on the Move is something I wish I had when I was young. I grew up in the hood, and we didn’t have many role models,” the entertainer stated as she emphasized the responsibility of the panelists to do their part in starting students on the road to a successful future.”
The women that are in powerful positions must realize that they can be and are role models.
We should want to share our knowledge with the youth, and pass it on to the next generation of women to come.”
The Women on the Move seminar will take place at the Rosenthal Pavillion at the Center.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early for the event.
