Lupe Fiasco Abandons Final Album, Preps The "Great American Rap Album"

Lupe Fiasco has postponed his retirement by pushing back LupE.N.D., what he planned as his final release, "indefinitely."

Lupe Fiasco recently announced that his upcoming project LupE.N.D. would not be released.

"Breaking News... Listen Up This Affects You!!! Due to circumstances beyond my control...the album roll out has changed radically. LUPE.N.D. has been postponed indefinitely!!! As a matter of fact consider it cancelled until further notice!!! OK..so what now??? Actually an album is still coming in June...Thats Right!!!...Drum Roll Please... "THE GREAT AMERICAN RAP ALBUM" Yeah thats the new title..." (Lupe Fiasco's Blog)

Lupe is also planning to release a debut album from his rock group, Japanese Cartoon.

The Grammy-nominated rapper has also been masquerading as Percival Fats, the lead singer for Japanese Cartoon. He wrote that Japanese Cartoon's debut album, In the Jaws of the Lords of Death, will be released on the same day in June as his next LP, The Great American Rap Album. (MTV Newsroom)

During a concert last fall, the Chicago emcee broke the news that his final album would be a trilogy.

"My next album will be my last album ladies and gentlemen. But... things aren't always what they seem ladies and gentlemen. The name of the next album is LupE.N.D. so if you pay attention it's not one album. It's three. What do you say about a triple CD on the next one. I love it too much just to go out with one. We'll call the first one out of the three Everywhere. N, we'll call that one Nowhere. And then the last one D, we'll call that one Down Here." (Youtube)

It was recently announced that Lupe Fiasco will play the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in April.

Among the dozens of other performers at the festival are: TV on the Radio, drum-and-DJ duo Travis Barker and DJ AM, Lupe Fiasco, Public Enemy and more. (Freep)
