Hip-Hop veteran Kool Keith has announced a new album that will introduce his latest alias - Tashan Dorsett.
The rapper revealed to AllHipHop.com that he has linked with longtime producer DJ Junkaz Lou to produce Tashan Dorsett in its entirety.
Keith, a founding member of pioneering group Ultramagnetic MC’s, is revered for reinventing himself multiple times under different aliases, including Dr. Octagon, Black Elvis, Dr. Dooom, Big Willie Smith, Rhythm X, and Sinister 6000.
"Tashan Dorsett is the reality person from New York City with an image of being real and regular, dealing with daily life situations," Keith explained to AllHipHop.com. "The essence of urban living to it's all time fullest, block after block, the brick buildings, the hot sun, areas and struggles of the ghetto I myself walked and experienced. You can't live it through television, you have to walk out and touch it like I've done for years. To all the areas that many people will not visit, I will constantly."
The Tashan Dorsett album comes on the heels of Keith’s 2008 release Dr Dooom 2, the rapper’s 12th solo album since the launch of his career in 1984, with Ultramagnetic group members Ced Gee, Moe Love and TR Love.
Kool Keith has worked with artists like DJ Q-Bert, Dan The Automator, Ice-T, Kutmasta Keith, Marc Live and numerous others.
Tashan Dorsett hits stores February 24th on Junkadelic Music.
