The New York Post reports that Lil Kim was awarded a $500,000 settlement in a $6 million suit against her former friend and fellow Junior M.A.F.I.A. member James "Lil Cease" Lloyd yesterday.
Cease was one of the key people to testify against Kim in 2005 when she was tried for lying to a federal grand jury about a 2001 Manhattan shooting. Lil Kim served 10 months in Riker's Island based upon testimony from Cease and others.
In 2005 Kim, whose government name is Kimberly Jones, filed a $6 million suit against Cease for using her name and image without permission, after her likeness was used to promote the 2004 DVD Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A.
In the suit, which was filed two months before she went to prison, Kim stated she never granted Cease permission to exploit her name and image for the production of the DVD. Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff agreed with Kim's charges, and ruled against Lil Cease and his company Ground Zero Entertainment.
