Initially planned to be an early July release, Fat Joe has opted to move Darkside Volume 1 back to July 27.
The Bronx veteran star confirmed to HipHopDX Tuesday evening, during an interview, that his album will include a "darker, grittier" sound, including production from Just Blaze, DJ Premier and Diggin' In The Crates partner Buckwild. Cool & Dre also contributed extensively to Darkside, as Fat Joe revealed that the duo he helped introduce nearly a decade ago, expressed interest to return to work with their Terror Squad mentor.
Too Short, R. Kelly and Trey Songz are among the guest appearances on the album that reunites Joe with former Relativity Records executive Alan Grumblatt for the first time in 15 years.
