Jam Master Jay Documentary Added to New 50 Cent Album and Movie

50 Cent’s official return to music will highlight more than the rapper’s way on the mic.

AllHipHop.com has learned a new documentary on the late Jam Master Jay will be included with the rapper’s highly-anticipated album and accompanying DVD, both titled Before I Self Destruct.

The second DVD, titled Two Turntables and A Microphone: the Life and Death of Jam Master Jay, will offer a look inside the world of the Run DMC member, who was regarded as a mentor and friend of 50 Cent.

The G-Unit leader, who served as the executive producer of the 85-minute documentary, appears in the film along with rap moguls Russell Simmons and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, among others.

Prior to his death, Jam Master Jay played an important role 50 Cent’s career.

The turntablist provided the rapper with his first taste of the music industry by signing him to JMJ Records in the late 1990s.

The signing ultimately paved the way for 50 Cent’s first official recording was an appearance on a 1998 album from the group Onyx that was produced by Jam Master Jay.

The pair continued to work together as Jam Master Jay produced 50 Cent’s first album, which was unreleased.

The addition of Two Turntables and A Microphone comes as fans await the release of Before I Self Destruct.

The rapper’s fourth studio effort follows 2007’s Curtis album, which spawned the Top 40 hits “I Get Money,” “Ayo Technology” and “Straight to the Bank.”

For his newest project, 50 Cent re-enlists the talents of Dr. Dre and Eminem, who also contributed to his official debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin.’

Evidence of the musical direction of Before I Self Destruct can be found on the Dr. Dre-produced single “OK, You’re Right” and “Baby by Me,” produced by Polow da Don.

Although Before I Self Destruct reintroduces 50 Cent’s musical persona to fans, the rapper will also showcase his acting ability with the Before I Self Destruct.

The original 90-minute film, which 50 Cent wrote, directed and starred, centers on an inner city youth raised by a hardworking single mother.

When his dream of becoming a basketball player fails to materialize, the young boy finds himself employed in a supermarket. After his mother is tragically gunned down, Clarence (played by 50 Cent) is consumed by revenge and takes up a life of crime in order to support his younger brother.

The Before I Self Destruct movie marks 50 Cent’s directorial debut. It is the latest in a string of films featuring the entertainer, who has appeared the semi-autobiographical feature Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ as well as Righteous Kill with big screen legends.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. In recent years, 50 Cent has found success in various business ventures surrounding literature, video games, clothing, footwear, beverages, personal care products, automotive and books.

The rapper’s latest page turner, The 50th Law, recently landed on the New York Times’ best sellers list. 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct album and movie is slated to hit stores November 23.
