Lupe Fiasco Hints At "Tetsuo & Youth" Release Date

by Victoria Hernandez

During an interview with Sway In The Morning, Lupe Fiasco hints at an August release date for Tetsuo & Youth. He says the date has been set for about three months.
"The album is coming," Fiasco says. "It’s not June. It’s not Ramadan. So there’s one month left."
Ramadan runs from June 28 to July 28 this year, leaving the month of August left in summer.
Lupe Fiasco confirms the features list for the album is slated to include Rick Ross, Big K.R.I.T., Ab-Soul and Chris Brown. Production will come from S1, DJ Dahi, Jake One and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, among others.
During the interview, the Chicago rapper also says that he is at a point in his music that everything he does has specific purpose. He says he wants his town to be known for more than the "Chi-Raq Freestyle" battle. One song Fiasco mentions in the interview specifically is “Mission,” a cut about fighting cancer.
“It was a reaction to take myself out of being the punching bag for people and then make music that I felt like if I die tomorrow, that I want songs to be like that,” he says. “I want you to remember what I did like that. Lupe put that into the world.”
