(AllHipHop News) Brand Nubian rapper Lord Jamar will be featured in the "Symphony for the Dance Floor" nationwide tour, which is being produced by composer/violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR).
The critically acclaimed evening length work is a sonic collage of classical, Hip-Hop and Pop music, set to the photography of veteran photographer Jonathan Mannion.
The production is directed by D.J. Mendel, while photography and video is handled by Mannion, with choreography by Millicent Johnnie.
Lighting is provided by Miriam Crowe, while emceeing is done by Lord Jamar, best known for his work with legendary Hip-Hop group Brand Nubian, in addition to his high profile recurring role in HBO's hit series "Oz."
DBR is an award-winning violinist who has collaborated with numerous artists, including Lady Gaga, Cassandra Wilson and has appeared on various TV shows, including American Idol.
“'Symphony for the Dance Floor' speaks to an equality between concert hall and dance club traditions,” DBR said. “Growing up in South Florida, I went to school, I played in the orchestra, I danced in clubs. It was part of the culture and of the times. So to me, they’re all equal.”
