Masta Killa has announced the upcoming release of his new album Selling My Soul, releasing December 11th via Nature Sounds and Royal Lion Music.
The Wu-Tang Clan member enlists production from 9th Wonder, Mathematics, PF Cuttin and more, as well as a guest appearance from the late Ol' Dirty Bastard. I put my soul into my music, and I'm in the business of selling it."
He also addressed the Loyalty is Royalty album, stating that this is entirely separate from Selling My Soul. "Loyalty Is Royalty is more feature-oriented…it's the kind of material that my fans normally expect me to produce. The people will still get Loyalty Is Royalty. I just felt the need to give them some soul first."

Only 200 copies are available of the deluxe edition, which comes in a custom hand-numbered box with a lyric book, autographed poster, MK wool cap and download card giving access to all three MK albums plus his live album. We had the reality show and we actually in talks for the second season on that joint and it's just really going to show people the album process, document an album and me going in the lab and actually putting these records together and giving people the insight on the side I want them to see, aside from the drama and things that come with the game. Dallas Austin Named Senior VP Of A&R At Island Records
by Sean Ryon
The veteran songwriter and producer has been named the SVP of Island Records.
Last August, it was rapper Young Jeezy who was appointed the Senior VP of A&R of Atlantic Recordings. Now, it looks like another musician has worked his way up the ranks in the music business.
In a recent report from Billboard, it was announced that producer and songwriter Dallas Austin has been named the Senior Vice President of A&R at Island Records. This new position will find Austin writing, producing and discovering new talent for the storied label.
"I am truly honored," said Austin in a statement.
In his twenty-plus years in the industry, Austin has won multiple Grammy awards for his work alongside artists like TLC, Boyz II Men, Colin Munroe and Michael Jackson. The Georgia native first got his start as a member of the short lived LaFace Hip Hop group Highland Place Mobsters.
As previously mentioned, Austin follows the likes of Jeezy, No I.D., and most recently The-Dream being named to high-up positions within labels.

Blueprint Explains "Deleted Scenes" Relationship To "Adventures In Counter-Culture," Rhymesayers' Fan Engagement
by Homer Johnsen
xclusive: Blueprint explains how his deal with Rhymesayers Entertainment challenged him to be a better musician. He also revisits "Chamber Music."
Columbus, Ohio emcee/producer Blueprint is no stranger to the game. Since 1999 he’s released hundreds of songs in via solo LPs and collaborative efforts like Soul Position and Greenhouse Effect. This week, he’s set to release his 13th solo effort in nine years.
HipHopDX recently caught up with Blueprint to discuss his new album, Deleted Scenes. Released through Rhymesayers Entertainment, Deleted Scenes consists of previously recorded tracks left off of his last album, Adventures in Counter-Culture. Accordingly, Deleted Scenes is a continuation of the same story, though Blueprint notes that the message is “more positive.”
Having observed the state of Hip Hop as a participant for over ten years, Blueprint’s wisdom is captivating. Discussing the first single from Deleted Scenes, “The American Dream”, he notes that values from prior generations have gotten lost along the way. “We look at the people who flaunt the excess the hardest as the biggest examples of the American Dream,” he says. “Meanwhile, the majority of residents have a hard time meeting their basic needs.”
It goes much deeper than that though. According to Blueprint, major labels have capitalized on this sentiment, which has taken some power away from independent labels. He also says it’s up to Independent artists to remain engaged with their fans to counter the effect of materialism on The American Dream.
Blueprint Explains Making Deleted Scenes Out Of Adventures In Counter-Culture
HipHopDX: Deleted Scenes is the new album and it’s comprised of some of the better tracks that didn’t make the cut for your last album, Adventures in Counter-Culture. Stylistically and artistically, what would you say the relationship is between these two albums?

RZA Reveals Two Ol' Dirty Bastard Biopics Are In The Works
by Steven J. Horowitz
RZA said that in addition to Dirty White Boy, another film titled Dirt: One Word Could Change The World is on the way. “There’s two things going on with the ODB situation,” he said. “There’s Dirty White Boy, which is about the manager of ODB, and his last two years. And there’s another one with a working title called, Dirt: One Word Could Change The World, that his family is more involved with. His mother is involved with Dirty White Boy. I’m involved with both, anything about his life, I want to help out with any capacity. His mother told me I should come in and help.”
The Wu-Tang Clan member said that he's thinking about scoring Dirty White Boy, which focuses on ODB's manager, and might play a role in it. As for Dirt: One Word Could Change The World, RZA said it's more about ODB's life. "As far as Dirt, that actually starts back when we was young,” he said. “Me and [ODB] ran through this city, man, cutting school, stealin’ pretzels from the hot dog stand, being vagabonds, sleeping on the trains, drinking '40s on the back of the A Train, rapping, getting chased by the police. It’s a coming of age story that me and him and a few of our cousins went through, Then it goes on into finally becoming Wu-Tang, going through that hell. And then it takes on his side of it, not my side."
